Goal we're talking about: #19- Join a Book Club
Last night was my first book club meeting, and I seriously enjoyed myself. Imagine this: Me, three librarians, and many, many retired individuals. All talking about a book I only read half of, but remembered enough about from 10th grade, when I also only half read it, to discuss. I did not mean to disrespect the book club- I just didn't get through it in time. Oddly enough, I talked about the last 8 chapters of the book. Which I did not read, but had much to say about. They also gave me a tiny cup of mixed nuts, which I enjoyed.
I rewrote this paragraph four times, trying to make it sound like I'm not joking, because I'm honestly not, but I couldn't do it right. So just know that I'm 100% not joking when I say don't you think it's nice to hang out with your elders sometimes? I don't get to see my grandmas very much. I find that when I hang out with older people they almost always have very nice things to say. I feel very "approved of" when I hang out with them. In fact, I like them so much that I will now read all of the books front to back because I feel OBLIGATED by my likingness for them.
I'm SUPER excited about next month, which is Catcher in the Rye month, which is my FAVE book.
Maybe one of my 31 goals for my 31st year will be to read Huck Finn all the way through.
